Christmas Diets Begin
With Christmas party season upon us, a new survey has revealed that six out of ten women will embark on a concerted campaign to get in shape in time to squeeze into that little black dress.
Researchers have pinpointed November 10th as the start of Christmas Party Diets across the United Kingdom!
It won’t be easy, however, as the average dieter is looking to drop 10 lbs by the start of the festive season.
A representative for British Lion eggs, who conducted the survey, said that eggs for breakfast would help women remain slim.
“The Christmas party has become one of the biggest events of the year, and for many, it’s an ideal time to impress a male colleague to be the envy of your female workmates,” he said.
“So while January is well-known to be the time Britons detox to try to undo the Christmas indulgence, this study shows that women are also dieting in the run-up to festive season as well.
The Study revealed that while 71% will try and consume a healthy balanced diet to lose weight, almost 1 in 10 plan to skip meals.
Another 4% will mistakenly cut out breakfast from their morning routines, wrongly believing this will assist their weight loss.
The poll also revealed an interesting fact that many of us will relate to!
Of the 3,000 women questioned, 14% buy their party outfits a size too small n the hope they will fit into it by the time the big night arrives.
Sadly, half of those have previously been forced to buy a emergency outfit after failing to hit their weight loss target.
Unfortunately, despite the hard work, 21% of those who have previously dieted in the lead up to Christmas admit that they usually put the weight back on during the festive season.
A further 17% normally have returned to their pre-diet size once the new year gets under way.
