Previous clients include Madonna, Gwyneth Paltrow and Aniston’s former Friends co-star Courtney Cox-Arquette.

Aniston has lost 3kg (7lb) on the weight loss programme and has said “I developed a cleanse where you can still eat and it’s a lot of puree foods, liquid cleanses do help you lose weight but you will gain more the next week”.

She believes her new regime is the best diet to lose weight, but recognizes that the impact is only short-term.

Weight Loss Drug Targets Body Not Brain

Thursday, November 26th, 2009

Scientists in Australia claim to have developed a weight loss supplement that has shown potential to change the way the body uses fat, reports safedietpills.co.uk

Researchers from the Garvin Institute of Medical Research believe that the new pill can control weight gain in mice by preventing the body receiving signals from the brain.

The majority of weight loss drugs, such as Acai Berry Select, Proactol and Unique Hoodia prevent the brain from sending hunger signals to the body.

The Head of neuroscience at the Garvin Institute, Professor Herbert Herzog, believes, however that these therapies do have some limitations.

“”What we’ve found is that blocking one system that influences appetite and body weight regulation might not be enough to cause a significant change in reducing body weight,” he said.

“If you take one signal away, others take over.”

As a result researchers sought to reverse the traditional approach and prevent the body from receiving hunger signals from the brain.

In addition to acting as an appetite suppressant, the pill also acts a fat burner.

“The body can decide if it uses fatty acids or protein for generating energy. So if one can direct the body to use more fatty acids, which is stored in fat tissue, then the reduction of body weight might be greater,” Professor Herzog said.

The drug has shown to be successful on mice, with results showing that body fat was reduced whilst muscle mass remained the same.

“It will definitely improve the effects of losing weight by a normal diet,” Professor Herzog said.
“This might not be really suitable for extremely obese people, but for moderately obese people, it might be a real alternative.”

Unfortunately, at least 3 years of further research will be necessary before human trials can be conducted on this diet pill.

In the mean time, if you are interested in supplements that have clinical evidence to prove their effectiveness, help is at hand.

Proactol is a 100% natural and organic weight loss supplement, which is medically certified to bind up to 28% of the fat you consume.

Described by the Daily Express as the “key in the fight against obesity”, Proactol is side effect free and can reduce you calorific intake by up to 500 calories per day!

Beetroot Juice Increases Stamina

Beetroot Juice

Tired of pumping weights and running miles on the treadmill? Well help could be at hand…The key to increasing your flagging stamina could be as simple as a glass of beetroot juice.

According to new research a daily dose could boost energy levels allowing you to exercise for longer reports safedietpills.co.uk

In addition, just under a pint a day of beetroot juice also lowers blood pressure improving your hearts health.

Not only could the research carried out at The University of Exeter and the Peninsula Medical School have a profound impact for professional athletes, us normal folks could benefit in boosting motivation to lose weight.

Scientists recruited eight healthy young men to complete a series of cycling tests. They took them twice - after drinking beetroot juice once a day for six days and after drinking blackcurrant cordial. When charged with cycling at an easy pace, the men used less oxygen after drinking beetroot juice,

This suggests that their muscles were able to perform at the same level, but used less energy after consuming the beetroot juice. What’s more, when they were asked to pedal for as long as possible, the juice enabled them to pedal for an additional minute and a half in comparison to the blackcurrant cordial.

This 16.5% difference could prove pivotal in a person’s quest to lose weight, leaving researchers believing that beetroot juice become be an effective and natural weight loss supplement.

Researcher Andy Jones said: ‘we were amazed by the effects of beetroot juice on oxygen uptake because these effects cannot be achieved by any other known means”

Scientists believe the benefits are most likely due to high levels of nitrate in beetroot juice, which costs around £2 a pint in health food shops. The chemical is also found in green leafy vegetables such as lettuce and spinach but is especially concentrated in juices.

It is thought that it undergoes a series of changes in the body which lead to the blood vessels widening, improving oxygen supply to the muscles.

Although the research used shop-bought beetroot juice, those behind the study said that your own homemade versions would most probably also be beneficial.

But please be warned, drinking beetroot juice is more than likely to have another unexpected consequence - purple urine, or ‘beeturia’ as it is known to scientists.

Grapefruit To Be Used In Diet Pills

Grapefruit

The chemical compound, which gives grapefruit its bitter taste, could be used to create a weight loss supplement, a study has indicated, reports safedietpills.co.uk. Research found naringenin, which is described as a flavonoid found in citrus fruit, has a revolutionary effect on the liver making it burn fat instead of storing it after a meal.

This means that without having to change diets or cut out particular foods, a dose of naringenin could prevent weight gain and even help to lose it.

Long-term, the researchers behind the tests believe it would also help obesity sufferers and even fight diabetes because the process also helped balance insulin and glucose levels.

The tests were carried out on mice by a team at the Robarts Research Institute at the University of Western Ontario and published in the journal Diabetes. Two groups of mice were both fed the equivalent of a Western diet to speed up their “metabolic syndrome” – the process which leads to Type 2 diabetes in human.

The food given to one of the groups was treated with naringenin. The non-naringenin mice became obese; they developed the metabolic syndrome, which saw their cholesterol rise and their bodies become resistant to insulin.
The mice given naringenin did not suffer from these. Any rise in cholesterol was corrected by the naringenin, which also ‘reprogrammed’ the live to burn up fat rather than store it.

Lead researcher Professor Murray Huff added: “Furthermore, the marked obesity that develops in these mice was completely prevented by naringenin.

“What was unique about the study was that the effects were independent of caloric intake, meaning the mice ate exactly the same amount of food and the same amount of fat.”There was no suppression of appetite or decreased food intake, which are often the basis of strategies to reduce weight gain and its metabolic consequences.”

The researchers will now try and develop the compound into a weight loss pill, which would be both effective and safe for humans to take as a supplement or treatment.

Such a pill is still some years off, but there are diet pills currently available that work in a similar fashion.

The acai berry is a proven ‘super food’ that detoxes the body, great for kick starting a diet; it won’t help you achieve long term weight loss goals..

Acai Berry Select, however, contains 3 additional fat burners, including green tea extract, helping you to achieve and sustain your weight loss objectives.
